When deciding to begin an exercise program make sure you have your doctor's approval if under the car of a doctor. If not under the care of a doctor but you know you have specific health issues then please be smart and only do what you can handle.
When you have not exercised in a while, it is important to start slow. Whether your body can handle the exercise strain or not your goal in the beginning weeks is to continue exercising past your desire to quit after a few days. (Avoid this stumbling block and save yourself some time) - get a good pair of walking or jogging shoes/sneakers. My story: I started exercising a month or two ago. I felt great, walking 40 minutes and loving it until my much worn sneakers starting giving out and the pain started in my lower leg and back. So invest in some good sneaker but don't break the bank.
