"Learn By Doing" Method

Learn by Doing
The "Learn by Doing" method, also known as active or experiential learning, is an educational approach where individuals acquire and retain knowledge more effectively through hands-on experience, direct participation, and conscious reflection, rather than by passively listening to lectures or reading textbooks. A garden is a great place to learn!
Through Volunteering you gain knowledge and skills that can be applied elsewhere!

At the farm, we grow pesticide-free food.
  • Learn about the various plants and how to care for them.
  • Learn farm maintenance jobs - building  and maintaining structures, growing plants, building / adding support structures, planting, watering, weeding and weed suppression, harvesting, seed collecting, transplanting seedlings and their care, etc.
  • Discuss our small insects and learn about their role in the garden - good or bad! As well as pest control.
  • Learn to gently touch the plants and smell their natural fragrance. Taste their natural ripeness!
  • Learn to harvest fresh produce from throughout varied garden sections and seasons.
  • Encouraged to start growing a garden and when available receive some plant or seeds to get started or expand.
  • Share what you grow to help others.
  • AND LEARN SO MUCH MORE!
